The Cambridge & District Friendly League Champions Shield 2003

The Committee decided to try a new method this year for working out which teams would play for the Champions Shield.
We asked each of last season's team captains to award the other teams points based upon how much they thought each team embodies the "friendly spirit" of the CDFL as follows:

A. Ambassador for the CDFL = 3 points
B. Satisfactory performance = 2 points
C. Room for improvement = 1 point

The Committee decided that the 2 teams with the highest scores will play for the Champions Shield in pre-season.
The result and out of a possible maximum total of 42 points, the top two are:

The Zebra on 38 points and
Cambridge Cosmos Thirds on 36 points

Many congratulations to both of them for being such excellent ambassador's.

The Alexandra Crew were a very close third on 35 points so well done to them as well.

Final - 31st August, St Bedes School.

Zebra
3 - 1
Cambridge Cosmos Thirds

Congratulations to Zebra FC

Many thanks to those responsible for organising the tournament.
